Participatory methodologies for agroecological transition after COVID-19 in mountain environments of Nova Friburgo, RJ: the union of alternation pedagogy and family farming as a strategy for raising awareness and changes.Agroecology; Soil Education; Rural education. The municipality of Nova Friburgo (RJ) has mountainous relief, shallow and weathered soils, with a favorable climate for the production of vegetables and flowers. The family production units make intensive use of industrial agriculture technologies, such as concentrated synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Immersed in this reality, the Family Centers for Alternation Training (CEFFA) Flores and Rei Alberto I are present, with schools whose teaching-learning strategy is Pedagogy of Alternation, adapted to the reality of rural families. The target audience of the present work will be students from the second segment of Elementary School (6th to 9th grade), mostly children of producers of flowers and vegetables in the region, who receive training focused on the technical area of agriculture. In this context, the study is justified by the demand for a change related to the use of natural resources in mountain environments, established from new perceptions arising from the pandemic of COVID-19, so that there is the promotion of practices and processes related to agroecological transition involving flower producers in the community of Vargem Alta, in Nova Friburgo (RJ) and vegetable producers in the community of the 3rd district - Campo do Coelho, in Nova Friburgo (RJ). Participatory methodologies will be used with 9th grade students from both schools, together with their families (fathers and mothers), so that they actively participate in field activities related to agroecological transition and soil education. For the construction of knowledge adapted to reality, practices and processes will be evaluated in the productive context of the local and educational mountain environments of CEFFA Flores and CEFFA Rei Alberto I, in articulation with the community where the schools are located. In this context, investigating what will be the main demands, difficulties and local potentials may establish subsidies for adjustments in the local agroecological transition process and contribute to its greater replicability. As an expected result, it is expected that students and their families can generate speeches for autonomous participation in experimental units and develop new cultivation strategies, based on sustainable practices. In addition, at the end of the work, a video documentary will be produced with stages of the research, statements from those involved (technicians, teachers, students, farmers, school staff), as a way of socializing and publicizing the actions of agroecological practices in the community.
