“Survey, systematization, analysis and dissemination of organic production in the municipality of Seropédica, in the metropolitan region of the State of Rio de Janeiro: a proposal for ASPA – systematic monitoring of agricultural production in EMATER-RIO”.
Organic Agriculture, ATER, Database.
• The monthly organic production registered in the National Register of Organic Producers of the Ministry of Agriculture (CNPO/MAPA) has been growing since the legal framework was implemented (2003 to 2011) reaching today around 25 thousand registered producers, in the state of Rio de January appears with almost 600 producers. One of the characteristics of organic production in the ERJ is the diversity of crops in the same establishment, with a view to offering them in the so-called short commercial circuits, primarily organic fairs. Information on organic production is scarce and sometimes non-existent, and those available at the CNPO/MAPA do not provide information on the area, volume produced, sales achieved, in short, a database periodically updated to support managers in the development of public policies. The present work aims to survey, systematize, analyze and disseminate the organic production of the municipality of Seropédica, in the metropolitan region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in the period January 2022/December 2022, , in order to build and disseminate a database and information on organic production in the municipality of Seropédica that allow for the incorporation of this dynamic in the services already provided by EMATER-RIO. in the production grown under conventional management available on its internet portal (ASPA). The specific goals are:
• (a) identify, systematize and analyze agrobiodiversity and the profile of actors (organic producers registered with the CNPO/MAPA, conformity assessment mechanism and organic production profile – scope and activities;
• (b) build a spreadsheet, dynamics and agreements for monthly monitoring of organic production;
• (c) identify production problems – scarcity of organic seeds and seedlings, combating pests, demands for services, in short, bottlenecks for improving organic production;
• (d) identify socio-technical networks in which organic producers participate (for example, SPG ABIO groups – Participatory Guarantee Systems of the Association of Biological Farmers of Rio de Janeiro, agroecology groups/experiences in the region, such as NEAs – Study Centers in Agroecology at UFRRJ – Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro).
Bibliographic and documentary research will be carried out for the production of informational content on concepts of agroecology and organic production, records of organic producers at CNPO/MAPA. A contextualization of organic production in the ERJ will be made with a focus on the municipality of Seropédica and the socio-technical networks involved will be identified. Monthly monitoring of organic production and registration (image and writing) will be carried out in order to build a proposal for the elaboration of the ORGANIC ASPA. As a result, a proposal will be presented to EMATER-RIO (COMPANY OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND RURAL EXTENSION OF THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO), but also to organic producers and their organizations, proposing actions to develop a registration and analysis program of organic production in the ERJ for use and availability by EMATER-RIO, using the municipality of Seropédica as a pilot experiment.
