RESUMO:

The didactic approach of the characteristics and peculiarities of the sets of irrational numbers does not always present a necessary structure for the composition of concepts in concrete form. Thus, this work becomes relevant for presenting proposals and initiatives, and, through the results presented here, help in the pedagogical practice that values the study of conceptual peculiarities, giving practical and theoretical base and enrichment for the study of irrational numbers. This research aims to contribute to the pedagogical practice that provides the future teachers with the perception of the relevance of irrational numbers, as well as their representations and applications, as well as to investigate material proposals and strategies that provide a meaningful learning of these concepts. The methodology of applied research was the DBR (Design Based Research) starting from the survey through questionnaires and application of activities in iterative format on the concept of set of irrational numbers, their respective structures and applications. In this work, because it is a dissertation of professional masters, are presented the basal and restricted researches to the bibliographical survey on the subject, as well as the structuring of an educational product with methods, techniques and materials that allow the improvement of the learning and the approach of irrational numbers. As a result, the development of the conceptual parameters of irrational numbers has been observed quite consistently.
