Teaching by inquiry: Scientific literacy practices among elementary school students from the public network of the city

 of Silveiras-SP

Science teaching has been undergoing intense changes, resulting in the need to to develop new moments, spaces and

 strategies for the promotion of learning, understanding that teaching only through lectures or manipulation of 

laboratory equipment. The objective of the present research is to create opportunities for the use of a pedagogical 

approach to teaching by inquiry through the implementation of a club of Sciences for Elementary School II Students 

at Escola Estadual Prof. Hildebrand Martins Sodero from the municipality of Silveiras/SP. The research has a qualitative

 approach of the case study type, whose data will be collected through the observation of interactions in classroom,

 interviews and analysis of oral and written productions made by students. 30 students enrolled in Elementary School

 of the aforementioned school. The theoretical-methodological approach is anchored in research teaching, 

instrumentalized in the planning and development of a Teaching Sequence Investigative (SEI) with subsequent 

analysis of the different impressions, experiences and student behaviors during activities and identification of possible

 indicators of scientific literacy. The study will have the SEI as a product, exploring knowledge of the common 

sense from a scientific perspective, streamlined in a didactic guide formatted in two workshops, totaling 28 hours 

of activities distributed among orientation, conceptualization, dynamics, exploration and systematization of the

 theme. It is hoped that this work will contribute for the implementation of more significant methodological

 strategies in the teaching process and learning and that is a source of consultation and reflection for teachers and

 scholars of the science teaching.
