Digital Technologies in Teaching Trigonometry: Exploring Desmos in a Research-Formation project with Undergraduate Students of the Mathematics Degree Course
Mathematics Teaching; Desmos; Digital Technologies.
This text aims to engage teachers and future teachers in dialogue regarding the challenges, possibilities and limitations of Teaching Mathematics with the support of Digital Technologies. Exploring the field of Research related to Teaching Trigonometry, this research seeks to map the research carried out on the use of technologies in Teaching Trigonometry, in addition, it develops a sequence of tasks that was applied in the context of a Mathematics Teaching class at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. Through this implementation, it seeks to guide which strategies and methodologies are well used in Teaching Mathematics through Digital Technologies, taking into account the methodological conceptions of knowledge construction. To this end, it seeks to introduce and propose an activity using the GeoGebra Platform, through Applets, and the Desmos Platform, through its Desmos Classroom environment. The activity and the analysis of the results took place in a face-to-face context, where students used devices such as tablets, smartphones, and in general, interacted with the construction of the activities by touching screens.
