Trigonometric functions through the eyes of mathematics under graduatesusing GeoGebra
Trigonometric Functions; Bachelors in Mathematics; GeoGebra
In view of the educational moment we are experiencing, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Digital Technologies
have become essential tools for the development of cognitive teaching and learning processes.
This professional master's research makes use of Digital Technologies and Virtual Environments,
which are part of GeoGebra, to develop activities of an investigative/exploratory nature with the objective
of generating potentially significant tasks for the study of Trigonometric Functions through the analysis
of the ideas of undergraduates of mathematics of an evening course at the Federal Rural University
of Rio de Janeiro. To guide the research paths, we used Design Based Research (DBR) as a methodological basis,
which aims at a dialogue between the research and the field in which it is carried out, essential for
a professional master's research. As data collection instruments, we resorted to semi-open and individual
questionnaires, written responses to tasks and field diary notes. We seek to identify how the learning of concepts
about Trigonometric Functions occurs. As a research product, consisting of tasks designed for research,
we formed a task book intended to be used in the initial and continued training of teachers and high school
students. We hope that this research will contribute to the development of research in the area of teaching
and learning Trigonometric Functions in a different way than the traditional one.
