Environmental Education in the High School Teacher Training Course: Pedagogical Game “Bichos da Mata Atlântica”

We propose the development and use of an educational card game as a popularization tool for some species 

of the Atlantic Forest fauna, cataloged and identified in the Red Book of Brazilian Fauna Threatened with 

Extinction (2018) and classified by the IUCN (2006). As a general objective, we will analyze the pedagogical 

possibilities of a didactic game to introduce Environmental Education concepts in particular, the Atlantic

 Forest fauna theme, and as specific objectives we will seek to (1) promote the teaching of basic notions

 about the Atlantic Forest fauna, with the use of educational games; (2) enable opportunities for interaction

 between the members of the groups in carrying out activities aimed at dialogue, exchange of information 

and discussion on the topic addressed; (3) build a didactic game, with the theme of the fauna of the 

Atlantic Forest, to be used as a pedagogical resource for Environmental Education and (4) research 

the feasibility of using educational games as a teaching-learning proposal in Science, encompassing

 the transversal theme Environment, emphasizing Environmental Education. We hope that 

through this interactive and playful process with this card game, we can contribute to the knowledge 

of the characteristics and curiosities of the species presented, to raise awareness about the preservation

 of endangered species, anthropic action and the aggregation of new knowledge through spontaneous 

learning and pleasurable.
