This dissertation investigates teacher training and the teaching of fractions during the transition between the early and final years of elementary school, highlighting the challenges faced by students and educators. The study reveals gaps in both initial and ongoing teacher training, which impact teaching quality and student learning. Through a systematic review and analysis of pedagogical practices, the research identifies the need for innovative strategies—such as the use of manipulatives, games, and technology—to make fraction instruction more meaningful. The work also proposes the development of an e-book as an educational product, aiming to foster dialogue between generalist and specialist teachers on teaching fractions. The conclusion emphasizes that investments in professional development and active methodologies are essential to improve the transition between school stages and reduce students' difficulties in fractions.
