SUMMARY:

This paper aims to construct a proposed historical trajectory that engages with science and technology, in their "evolution" and non-linear aspects, while also supporting continuities and discontinuities, especially the potential connections between the digital and non-digital eras. From this perspective, it briefly discusses some innovative digital and technological initiatives, observing public policies related to a Maker Education perspective consolidated in the form of government initiatives (E-TEC, GET, and IFMaker), to discuss the need for actions focused on teacher training. The theoretical framework is based on contributions such as those by Bruno Latour, who understands sociotechnical networks and the collective construction of knowledge; George Basalla, who explores an evolutionary technological perspective; Marcelo de Carvalho Borba, who grounds technological mediation and meaningful learning; Paulo Blikstein, who offers greater depth in the practice of constructionism and Maker Education; and Pierre Lévy, who discusses collective intelligence and cyberculture for the ethical use of digital technologies in education. An approach based on the historical method for documentary analysis and critical literature review is adopted, which, combined with qualitative research, allows us to understand both the complexity of historical processes and contemporary educational practices. The method adopted consists of a bibliographic review and documentary analysis of current educational policies, which will be complemented by an extension course for teacher training, centered on the STEAM approach and Maker Education, in addition to seeking the possibility of a collective construction of the ethical and conscious use of artificial intelligence in education. Given the diversity of innovative digital and technological initiatives, the justification for this work is based on the need to better prepare our educators for today's rapidly changing technological environment. Therefore, we aim to promote a collaborative, creative, and innovative pedagogical approach that fosters the development of active, critical, and responsible learning environments. Among the conclusions, it is considered that through an extension course that involves Maker Education, it becomes possible to foster pedagogical practices that significantly impact the quality of teaching, promoting greater engagement, creativity, and autonomy of the community through the ethical and conscious use of artificial intelligence.
