The game Brain Battle as a pedagogical resource to teach about Nervous System to students in Fundamental 2

The main purpose of this work is to analyse the use of a game as a pedagogical resource to teach about Nervous System to students in Fundamental 2. The game is named Brain Battle and it was played by students from 8th Grade in Rio Claro – RJ Public School. During the realization of the activities, student’s speech were tapedand later transcripted and analyzed based upon the index paradigm of Ginzburg (1989). The research quests a reflection about the utilization of playful feature – game – as a proposal of teaching – learning wich give the students a sense of autonomy. The study is based in theorists, who discuss about playfullness, such as Kishimoto (2000), Huizinga (2007) and Luckesi (2014), and also writers like Coll (1988) and Freire (1997), who brings arguments on teaching – learning process, that makes sense for learners, and is able to develop their autonomy and criticism. Besides the field research with students from Fundamental 2, the narrative of the search – teacher on the living experiences of the game in her classes was also observed. Data was analyzed under the index paradigm of Ginzburg (1989) and show the potentiality of the utilization of the game as a pedagogical resource in teaching – learning contents about Nervous System in a playfullness and motivating way.
