PONTES, ISABEL CRISTINA. A PROPOSED METHODOLOGY FOR TEACHING FINANCIAL EDUCATION IN YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION. Dissertation Qualification Project (Master in Science and Mathematics Education). Institute of Education / Multidisciplinary Institute, Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, Seropédica, RJ. 2021. The presence of financial mathematics in our daily lives is notorious, one can observe the speed of consumption among young people and the difficulties presented by students of Youth and Adult Education in solving problems involving Financial Education in their own personal lives. It is also observed that these difficulties start with the concept of percentage and become more complicated when you start working with the concepts of interest and interest rate, especially in problems involving decision-making in face of different cash payment options or forward. In this work, I present a methodological proposal for the teaching of Financial Education, especially aimed at teaching Youth and Adult Education, and carry out an analysis of these proposals, bringing approaches that address the importance of the subject for Pedagogy students at UFRRJ, their use to solve problem-situations involving percentages, interest and the historical motivations for the development of Financial Mathematics to contextualize the study of the various concepts involved in the theme. Let's propose some activities involving percentages and interest. There is a consensus that Financial Mathematics is an important strategy for motivating students and for developing more meaningful learning for them in their personal lives.
