Along history, the education of Deaf people has been through some variations and currently the most efficient strategy that is observed is a bilingual education, which prioritizes Libras as the deaf community's first language. Therefore, it is urgent that different fields of knowledge must reflect on how to adapt their teaching strategies for the Deaf community.  There are already many deaf professionals working in certain fields of knowledge, bringing new approaches to related content, and reconsidering or creating an appropriate vocabulary for communicating their concepts based on a visual pedagogy. However, this is not yet a reality for all fields, such as astronomy. Despite the existence of some vocabulary associated with concepts in this field, some terms lack further reflection on their representation in Libras. Therefore, this research proposes an analysis of the meanings of these terms and their possible signs in Libras to offer new proposals that enable visual scientific literacy.  To do so, a survey was conducted on their meanings in the Portuguese language, as well as their signifiers in Libras from four different sources (Spread the Sign, HandTalk, @astronomiaemlibras, and TV INES), which were subsequently analyzed linguistically, both individually and relationally, to verify their coherence. Fifty-four terms were selected for the research, and only 41 representations in Libras were found on at least one platform. The results revealed a lack of adequate terms in Libras as well as an objective explanation in the same language about their meanings. Based on these results, new sign proposals were developed, considering the visual characteristics of Libras, resulting in the production of 15 videos on the topic. These records initiated extensive dissemination through some of the most commonly used social media platforms by the deaf community. At the end of the research, it is expected to significantly contribute, through the educational product, to the construction of a scientifically and linguistically appropriate vocabulary that assists the deaf community in acquiring concepts and communicating about topics related to astronomy.
