PLAY IS FOR WHOEVER WANTS IT: REFLECTING ON GENDER IN EARLY CHILDHOOD AND ENCOURAGING GIRLS TO OCCUPY SPACES IN SCIENCE
Preschool Education. Gender. Science. Games.
The school is a collective teaching-learning space, but it is mainly a place where people meet one another, learn to (co)live and see the world from these encounters. Over the years, it has also served to maintain a model of society and exemplary behavior for being in society. We understand that the school is also space-time to think about the construction of non-sexist relationships in the face of growing and emergency demands for the constitution of a more egalitarian world between the genders of the human species. This study is based on the premise that, since the child's entry to Preschool Education, we can promote, autonomously and consciously, reflection on the roles determined by gender, based on experiences in playing, in order to collaborate for the deconstruction of stereotypes defined by a patriarchal society. The main objective of this work is to investigate the (re)production of gender roles in Preschool Education through games and Scientific Literacy practices, in a Preschool Education class of a school located in the West Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro-RJ. This research adopted the qualitative approach and its methodology consists of narrative research. In this regard, games will be proposed to children so that they can narrate the experience of playing. The children's statements will be audio-recorded for later analysis, using Ginzburg's evidential paradigm (2010), in order to understand evidence of the place of women in society and science. As an educational product, it is proposed to build a guide for non-sexist games that allow children to think and reflect on the gender roles imposed by society.
