THE USE OF GEOGEBRA IN THE STUDY OF RATIONAL FUNCTIONS
Rational function; Isometries; GeoGebra; Geometric Transformation; DGE.
This study is part of a research project focused on teaching and learning mathematics in dynamic geometry environments. Through an exploratory study, we illustrate the interactions of undergraduate mathematics students in tasks on isometric graphs of rational functions on the GeoGebra platform. The research mapping demonstrates the wealth of studies on the topic of technology, but highlights the scarcity of work on rational functions related to isometric transformations. The theoretical foundation emphasizes the importance of using virtual environments in teaching and learning mathematics and of creating tasks appropriate for these environments. Chapter three focuses on the presentation of the GeoGebra platform, the activities proposed in the fieldwork, and a preliminary analysis focused on participants' responses in the GeoGebra Classroom. The activities prioritized the creation of functions and sliders, function transformations, and exploration of the construction table. Data production was based on the responses to the activities recorded on the platform and manually entered into Excel tables, in addition to screenshots when necessary to analyze the construction table. Chapter four presents the educational product that will be produced after the qualification, where we will develop an activity book with the activities produced during the research. The contribution of this work is to address isometries linked to the study of graphs of rational functions in an interactive dynamic environment (DGE).
