APPROACH OF SOCIO-SCIENTIFIC ISSUES IN PHYSICS TEACHING: A HISTORICAL-CRITICAL PROPOSAL 

ABOUT NUCLEAR POWER FROM THE BRAZILIAN NUCLEAR SUBMARINE PROGRAM

This work aims to approach the use of Socio-Scientific Questions (QSC) about nuclear energy for the teaching

 and learning of Physics in High School, in a historical-critical proposal of education and using as motivating 

question the Brazilian Nuclear Submarine Program. We intend to establish theoretical approaches between 

the Science – Technology – Society (CTS) Education perspective and Dermeval Saviani's Historical-Critical 

Pedagogy for Science Education. In this sense, we seek to develop an exploratory qualitative research 

of the Action Research type, with the aim of evaluating a teaching sequence about the issue of nuclear energy 

applied on a group of physics graduates from UFRRJ. The final product will be a Nuclear Energy Didactic Sequence

 for High School, which addresses the approximation of theoretical teaching and learning trends. 

We hope with the results obtained by the research, be able to participate in the formation of critical,

 participative and responsible subjects in society.
