The concern and the curiosity to keep alive the history of the town, seeking more information and contributions not only for the neighborhood, but also for the Municipality of Paracambi and this connection of popular culture, environmental education and science education was the first step (PPGEduCIMAT) of UFRRJ in 2017.In order to understand the contribution of popular knowledge on the theme "Water" in the different spaces of learning, we intend to promote the conceptual change from a discussion through the socio-historical-cultural, economic and affective conceptions about water and to trace the epistemological paths to go. The work aims to emphasize the valorization of water, since this has fundamental importance for the maintenance of life on the planet, and therefore speak of the relevance of knowledge about water in their dive it is to speak of the survival of the human species, the conservation and balance of biodiversity, and the dependency relations between living beings and natural environments. The presence or absence of water writes history, creates cultures and habits, determines the occupation of territories, wins battles, extinguishes and gives life to the species, determines the future of generations. Our planet would not have become a suitable environment for life without water. We have as our general objective to identify the perception about the socioenvironmental problem related to local water resources, seeking to understand how people in the community relate to water in their life histories and the perspectives for the next generations and to use these reports to help in the classes of science. To develop the research, we will collect data through semi-structured interviews of four people, evaluating the oral history, their observations, their desires and the meaning of the theme "Water" for each of them. We selected the research subjects according to the longest living experience within the neighborhood of Ponte Coberta, so they are people of advanced ages, endowed with a long local journey.
