TRIGONOMETRIC FUNCTIONS: THROUGH THE EYES OF MATHEMATICS STUDENTS
Trigonometric Functions; Mathematics undergraduates; GeoGebra.
Given the educational moment we are experiencing, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Digital Technologies have become essential tools for the existence of cognitive processes of teaching and learning. The master's research in progress presented in this work makes use of Digital Technologies and Virtual Environments, which are part of GeoGebra, to develop investigative/exploratory activities in order to analyze the conceptions of mathematics undergraduates in a night course at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro on the content of Trigonometric Functions and the concepts involved. To guide the research paths, we are using the Design Based Research as a methodological basis, which aims at a dialogue between the research and the field in which it is carried out. As a data collection tool, we used an individual semi-open questionnaire, video and audio recordings of the interactions of the licensors with each other and with the researcher, and written responses to the tasks. And still under study, the theoretical basis is supported by David Ausubel's Theory of Meaningful Learning, seeking to identify how the learning of concepts about Trigonometric Functions occurs. We hope, at the end of the research, to generate a notebook of questions intended for initial and continuing teacher education that can contribute to the teaching and learning of Trigonometric Functions in a different way than the traditional one.
