SUMMARY:

The approach of rational numbers in the school period of Basic Education is a recurring subject in research to deal with a topic that still lacks understanding and assimilation in relation to the concept of fractions. This feigned pedagogical approach on the construction of a conception of realization through folding design techniques (Origami) and construction techniques as a teaching tool. The methodology used in the research refers to the bibliographic survey, construction and execution of investigative/exploring activities, named as Design Based Research (DBR) which together with an elaborate didactic engineering allows a sequence with the structure of the tasks that will be provided with the structure of the students for understanding the part/whole relationship. The activities will be carried out with undergraduates from a Public University of Baixada Fluminense in the State of Rio de Janeiro. In which field data collection will be reported by the researcher, the meetings will be recorded in daily data responses and related photos in written material. With these instruments, the researcher seeks and identifies the way students discuss and resolve the proposed circumstances of the concept of distinction. In order to develop a product, as a video-class medium that can help teachers and other professionals involved in the teaching area.
