SUMMARY:

In the wake of false information that spread through social media, discrediting the
measures proposed by health authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an
urgency for means of scientific popularization and dissemination among the population.
Believing in the school as a privileged place for such pedagogical action and students as
multipliers of knowledge with their families and community, as well as the recognition
of the importance of environmental education according to its transversality, the project
of mounting a museum exhibition in the school space. The addition of elements of non-
formal education comes as an antithesis to a rigid formal education, given its dynamism
and contextuality in updating the knowledge communicated, in line with the demands of
young people who seek protagonism. Therefore, the proposition of a collective
curatorship (teachers and students) listing the aforementioned elements, begins the
BIODIVERSIATE project, amalgamating arts and sciences, supported by artistic
practice and objects constructed as educational materials, elements that enhance
teaching and learning of science with a 4th year elementary school class from a public
school on the outskirts of Rio. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this
process, in order to identify it as relevant to the acquisition of new knowledge or mere
entertainment. Qualitative, action research involves the participation of the researcher,
the general class teacher and the students themselves, in a constructivist methodological
approach, with the aim of producing an electronic magazine to be made available for
consultation by teachers and other interested parties, allowing the replication of the
exhibition assembly process and possible adjustments.
