SUMMARY:

This research has as its theme narratives of literacy teachers from popular classes in times of pandemic, and as subject the teaching practices and scientific literacy in the pandemic context from the narratives of literacy teachers from popular classes. It addresses the educational difficulties and possibilities, specifically in the pedagogical practices of literacy in the mother tongue and scientific literacy in the current pandemic scenario caused by the spread of the new coronavirus. The main objective of the work is to understand how a certain group of literacy teachers from public schools in the city of Angra dos Reis attributes meanings to the pedagogical practices of literacy in their mother tongue and scientific literacy in the current pandemic context. The research reflects on the issues of literacy and literacy teachers in times of pandemic, the importance of scientific literacy, especially, against the background of the pandemic and its consequences in society. This is a research with a qualitative approach. The methodology used consists of a theoretical survey on issues related to the theme and its dialogue with the conceptions of a group of literacy teachers from popular classes, portrayed through their narratives. As a theoretical reference, this work intends to interlocute with the studies and research of Magda Soares, Emilia Ferreiro, Paulo Freire, Attico Chassot, Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Walter Benjamin, among others. These choices are because these authors and these authors work with the subjects: literacy of popular classes; teaching practices; scientific literacy; pandemic pedagogy and narratives.
