The quilombola communities Lagoa do João, Pimenteira and Vassouras are located in the municipality of Poções-Ba, in the semi-arid region. They come from similar historical processes.

The purpose of this research is centered on the following question: How does the peasant and identity reproduction process of the quilombola communities Lagoa do João, Pimenteira and Vassouras in the municipality of Poções-BA occur?

Thus, this work has the purpose of questioning the relationship between the peasantry and the quilombola identity, with regard to the reproduction of identity, work in the field and in the political struggle.
