slum, youth, Complexo do Alemão, alienation, trajectories, Nova Brasília
This study was conducted through the analysis of the life trajectories of young residents in the slum of the Nova Brasília/Complexo do Alemão (RJ), using interviews in focus groups, seeking to systematize the aspects present in the daily lives of these young people and their political engagement necessary to meet the demands of space. It presents the ways in which alienation processes are established and their manifestations, through the construction of their life trajectories, based on their relations with the slum itself, with the State, and the challenges for the future.
