SUMMARY:

This is a research that seeks to analyze cachaça as a food heritage and as a tourist-cultural attraction in the municipality of Vassouras, in the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Using quantitative and qualitative methodologies, such as: interviews, participant observation, bibliographical and documentary review, it was possible to infer, albeit in a preliminary way, that the consolidation of cachaça as a tourist product is relevant for the region and that the region is beginning to reap the fruits of this investment, mainly through the affluence to the Cachaça Fair and the Annual Meeting of Cachaça Collectors.
