The general objective of the work is to analyze how the LEAF Coalition constitutes a new funding fund for forest protection projects, especially in the Brazilian reality. The general objective is divided into the following specific objectives: (i) Understand the LEAF Coalition in the scenario of environmental geopolitics, in the context of conferences and actions of the United Nations; (ii) Interpret the celebration of the LEAF Coalition in the world of COPs, in particular in the 26th edition, in the United Kingdom; (iii) investigate the meaning of the LEAF Coalition, based on its international documents and the most advanced cases in the Brazilian reality. The methodology will consist of: (i) bibliographic review on environmental geopolitics, in general, and on the COPs and on the LEAF Coalition in particular; (ii) analysis of central documents linked to international organizations, as well as information collected on electronic pages and other official information; (iii) critical analysis of the results of the COPs and their consequences; and (iv) analysis of a project financed by the fund in Brazil – in this case, in the Brazilian Amazon –, with data investigation, digital sources and possible interview.
