LIGHT, CAMERA, ACTION: THE AUDIOVISUAL AS A TEACHING AND LEARNING PROPOSAL IN GEOGRAPHY TO UNDERSTAND THE CITY OF SÃO GONÇALO/RJ
Teaching Geography; Audio-visual; City; Creativity; Image.
Neighborhoods are urban spatial areas of complexity in the contemporary world, in society with growing technological and informational production processes and constant innovative results. Thus, the ways of reading, seeing, thinking, feeling and learning can be appropriated by audiovisual as a pedagogical methodology when inserted in schools, which are part of neighborhoods, cities and society. It becomes relevant for classrooms, the presentation of different social dialogues that can generate an attractive factor for students of the curricular components, in this case Geography, making content, methodologies and daily school practices lighter and more dynamic for students and developing knowledge from their places of experience and residence. An audiovisual production proposal can be conceived as a methodological and pedagogical strategy for developing the autonomy of students who, every day, are gaining more space in the field of teaching. As students and teachers jointly create knowledge, they also identify collective values and the audiovisual can capture interesting potential for geographic content. Geography teaching must take on the challenge of dealing with varied technological perspectives at school and be considered a mediator in the development of students' autonomy when introduced to audiovisual production. The local (their neighborhood and city), everyday and personal spatiality of the students' lived space becomes central and consequently appreciated. Connections that go unnoticed can be sharpened by geographic perceptions and readings and, thus, promote a more detailed observation of your own city, achieving innovations in the mode of creation, expression and communication between students, the school and Geography. We start from the need for variations in the ways in which geographic content is presented in the classroom for a generation that is very visual. The world has become more dynamic in the presentation of ideas, content, information and the visual aspect is increasingly attractive to students. The aim is for students to reorganize their own spatialities, acquiring spatial awareness of the social and physical elements that are exclusive to the city in which they live, in this case the municipality of São Gonçalo.
