SUMMARY:

The present work starts from the premise that individuals exposed to different types and ranged of vulnerabilities may be presented with pedagogical dimensions of Environmental Education as a movement of resistance and strengthening of the territory and its community, based on their own perspectives and actions. The general intent of this paper is to understand the socio-environmental practices guided by a Community-Based Environmental Education (CBEE), emerging from territories through the community experiences of specific groups in contemporary society. To achieve this goal, the narrowed specific objectives are: to systematize a bibliographic review about CBEE, analyzing the main concepts and developing the theme through bibliometric analysis; understand the development of CBEE based on the experiences of the Community-Based Environmental Education Observatory (OEABC); and analyze how CBEE practices emerge from territorial conflicts and tensions, considering especially the resistance of territorialities created by the Rio de Janeiro Urban Agriculture Network (Rede CAU). These objectives aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical foundations of CBEE, investigate the concrete practices of this educational approach in specific communities, and understand its role in the social and environmental dynamics involved in territorial conflicts and community resistance. The research will adopt the method of participatory research for immersion in communities, bibliometric analysis for comprehensive review, focus groups for collective interaction, interviews for individual perspectives, and Textual Analysis of Discourse (TAD), ensuring a comprehensive understanding of Community-Based Environmental Education. To address the theme, the research is based on theoretical concepts such as community (Bauman and Nego Bispo), urban agriculture, territory (Haesbeart), and environmental education (Mauro, Layrargues). At the end of the research, it is expected to contribute to the understanding and deepening of other practices, analyzing the concept of Community-Based Environmental Education and investigating the environmental education processes developed by the Rio de Janeiro Urban Agriculture Network (Rede CAU).
