SUMMARY:

This dissertation is the result of research started in 2018 during the creation of a
bilingual teaching material in the context of the Guarani Mbya Indigenous Teaching Course.
This project was resumed, as it was temporarily interrupted due to the pandemic
of COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021. During the update of the Political Project
Indigenous Pedagogical Teacher (PPPI) at the Guarani Karai Kuery Renda State Indigenous College,
located in the Sapukai village in Angra dos Reis – RJ, workshops were developed
by the “Territorial Schools” Program, articulated in collaboration with the community
local using participatory methodologies. In this context, the field of knowledge
of Geography showed potential to be explored, demonstrating its
contribution to the construction of the PPPI through Social Cartography. This involves the
production of mind maps and the use of remote sensing technologies to
strengthen culture, mother tongue and support the defense of the traditional territory of
Guarani Mbya.
