DIAGNOSIS OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF RESIDENTS OF FUNCTIONAL PROPERTIES OF THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF RURAL RIO DE JANEIRO
Quality of Life, Functional Properties, WHOQOL-8, Seropédica
The housing provision at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro is linked to the period in which the institution was built and to the particularities of the location where it is located. The Residential National Properties (PNRs), as these properties intended for staff housing are called, still maintain characteristics that reinforce the rural character of the location. In order to understand the role that these PNRs play in the lives of the institution's staff, a survey was conducted to identify the factors that influenced UFRRJ staff to want to live in the functional property and to analyze how they perceive the quality of life in the location. 59 PNR residents answered the questionnaire, which also assessed the group's quality of life using the WHOQOL-8 instrument. Based on the results obtained, it was found that 97.6% of the participants elected proximity to work as the most relevant factor in the decision to live in the PNR. The tranquility of the location was also indicated as an attractive characteristic of the location. 79.6% of the permit holders like the place where they live and 72.9% believe that their quality of life has improved after coming to live in the PNR. The characteristics that have had the most positive impact on their quality of life are the tranquility of the place and the contact with nature that it allows. In terms of negative aspects, the lack of adequate means of transportation received the worst evaluation from the group, with 50.9% of negative evaluations. The characteristic that has the most negative impact on the quality of life of the employees in the place is the quality of the provision of electricity and water supply services. In the evaluation of quality of life, using the WHOQOL-8, the group obtained 65.57 points, equivalent to a regular quality of life. However, the self-assessment of the quality of life of the group is considered good, with 75.42 points. Regarding satisfaction with the place where they live, the residents of the Ecologia neighborhood were more satisfied than the residents of the UFRRJ neighborhood.
