GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATION AND ITS CONTRIBUTIONS: THE CARTOGRAPHIC LANGUAGE IN THE LITERACY CYCLE.
Geographic Education; Cartographic Language; Literacy
This research aims to relate the experimentation of the field of cartographic knowledge as positive to the school environment, ensuring its direct relation with the development of daily life. It is also intended to promote the integration between the literacy and literacy processes in the Portuguese Language and Geography disciplines, relating such concepts and their applications as interdependent, developing the perception of Cartography as belonging to the course of practical and usual reality in its subjective and practice. We will observe the relevance of spatial notions for the act of constructing reading (of the word and of the world), valuing the graphic language as effective and considering the map as a source of communication. It is established for the practice of research, as methodology, the use of interviews with the professionals that work with the selected classes, as well as application and analysis of didactic sequences that aim at the development of spatial notions of size and orientation with the student body.
