Urban Climate and Heat Islands in the municipality of Ananindeua (PA)Urban Climate; Urban Heat island; Remote sensing.
The work analyzes the urban climate and associated heat island in the Ananindeua city, in the state of Pará, using Landsat satellite imagery. A review of the national and international literature on studies combining the urban climate with remote sensing, focusing on the equatorial regions, is carried out. In the section of material and methods the use of satellite images since 1984 is defined and the following products are elaborated for analysis: A land use mapping with six classes of use; Land Surface Temperature (LST); Index of Vegetation by Normalized Difference (NDVI) and Index of Constructed Environment (IBI). The Heat Island is defined by the difference found between the LST in the "Urban" class of use and the other classes. As a preliminary result, from an image only, it can be observed that the highest TSC values are in the urban land use class and the lowest values in the forest use categories.
