RESUMO:

Contemporary society increasingly lives the world of images, so exploring visual communication is increasingly necessary for a better understanding of the geographical phenomena that occur in space. Thus, the use of visual resources such as videos, movies, drawings, cartoons, mind maps, sketches and illustrations are necessary, since at all times the subjects are in contact with this imagery information. That said, it is observed that the little exploration of these resources in geography classes makes more abstract content not easy to understand, making students have difficulty relating them to their daily lives.

In this context, it deals more specifically with geographical climatology, which studies atmospheric phenomena and their interaction with the earth's surface over a given period of time, studying their averages and interacting directly with the life of beings. Consequently, teaching geographical climatology in a more didactic way is fundamental for students to understand that the phenomena addressed in its syllabus are closely related to their daily lives. Thus, our main objective is to propose the use of illustrative drawings in classes of geographical climatology, particularly for Youth and Adult Teaching classes. The research is based on three distinct moments: theoretical, practical and empirical. The theoretical part seeks theoretical references that discuss about the different methodologies for Geography Teaching, distinction of school geography and academic geography, illustrative drawings, geographical climatology and verbal and visual communication. The practical part is the construction with students of a booklet with the main themes of climatology and the empirical part is the application of activities in the classroom. Subsequently, empirical questions verify whether it is possible to teach geographical climatology through geographical drawings for students of the Youth and Adult Education modality, because through the use of this resource there is a construction of knowledge from the reality of the studied group, with stimulation. creativity, as well as the supposed involvement of the students during the teaching and elaboration of the classes.
