RESUMO:
Every year, especially in the humid and rainy summer period, torrential rains that hit the Guarda River watershed generate various disruptions to the population due to recurrent flood episodes. Thus, it is necessary to investigate the physical aspects, as well as the historical and socio-spatial dynamics resulting from the land use and land cover model to identify the processes that cause flooding in this drainage basin. The study area presents changes in the drainage network dating from the colonial period with the opening, dissection and transposition of the channels. The National Department of Works and Sanitation (DNOS) from 1930 to 1940 also corroborated the modification of several river basins in Rio de Janeiro, including the Guarda River watershed with the opening of channels, rectification and channeling of rivers, as well as cuts for opening roads and highways. The land use and land cover model was also an extremely important factor for the recurrent flood episodes, as unplanned urbanization contributes to the phenomenon because of the waterproofing that hinders the flow of water and the channeling of the rivers that increases the flow. . Systematic morphometric analysis is important for the study of watersheds, as it allows a detailed understanding of the physical characteristics of these drainage basins, especially their conditions in relation to the river dynamics that lead to the occurrence of floods and floods. In addition to the study of the physical characteristics of the watershed, the analysis of the spatial dynamics of land use and land cover can identify the changes that have occurred throughout history that modify the dynamics of runoff, infiltration and flow of these waters, intensifying the processes. of flooding in the area. The methodology of this research was developed in two different moments: The analysis of the morphometric parameters was based on studies elaborated by Christofoletti (1969; 1980), which presents the methodology of linear, areal and hypsometric analyzes, as well as the studies by Villela and Mattos ( 1975); The results on land use and land cover will use the images of Sensor Landsat 5 and 8, from orbit-point 217-76, which covers the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Region for May 30, 1984 (Creation of the Port of Itaguaí ), June 16, 1996 (Seropedic Emancipation) and May 12, 2018 (Current Days). The atmospheric correction used in the images will be developed based on the 6s model and classified in the Envi program based on the geographic object oriented imaging methodology (GEOBIA). As a result of this research, morphometric characterization is expected to identify parameters that are naturally susceptible to flooding. In addition, the data regarding use and coverage will corroborate the analysis of these parameters as it is a multitemporal analysis, as it allows identifying the changes that occurred in the study area.
