The use of Protected Areas (PA) for the promotion of environmental education (EE) is one of the pillars for the creation, implementation and management of these territories. Think Environmental Education in loco means, above all, enable democratic management. Based on these assertions, the research presents seeks to analyze the promotion of environmental education in Biological Reserve Tinguá (Rebio Tinguá) by the institutions that make up its board and the unit in partnership with other institutions. It is critical theoretical basis for teaching and methodology is used for the application of semi-structured questionnaire, applied to representatives of the aforementioned institutions, technical and management of PA. The research is presented in quantitative and qualitative field, and used for analysis and systematization of data Analysis Textual Discourse, in order to understand how environmental education is crafted in this important conservation unit located in the State of Greater Rio de Janeiro. Evidence research that, despite being discussed in the council, EE is in incipient state with some specific actions, requiring greater communication and partnerships among the institutions that compose it as well as closer ties between education departments and environmental municipalities to which Rebio Tinguá is inserted.
