RESUMO:

The main objective of this work is to analyze the representation of urban life, which is (re) constructed in the poetic work of Carlos Drummond de Andrade. The idea of working with the interrelationship between Geography and Literature comes from the understanding that geography and the production of geographic knowledge by geographers and geographers makes use of symbolic and linguistic mechanisms, as well as imaginative, imaginative and aesthetic literary activity. In addition, it is important to recognize that tangles, situations, structures, literary narratives and their images make use of spatial references. The operationalization of the research was made through the analysis of the poems of the mentioned author, in which it was sought to observe the recurrence of such concept in the work of the writer and the characteristics and contents associated with it in the poems. The method of analysis adopted was based on interpretation and commentary. In view of the writer's vast literary production, we selected 27 poems that served as references for the analyzes to be made.
