Urban Mobility. Socio-spatial segregation. Public policy. Realengo. Rio de Janeiro - AP5.
This study aims to present the issues involving public transport in the neighborhood of Realengo, located on AP5, to large areas of commercial influence and service provision, Central do Brasil and Barra da Tijuca, with the relationship between segregation, city production and public policies. We focus on the evaluation of DECREE RIO No. 45781 of April 3, 2019, which institutes the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro. We point out how urban mobility can influence the life of the regular public transport user, the difficulties in accessing transport, the precariousness of the service that is associated with the effects of socio-spatial segregation which are materialized in the “come and go” dynamics of the neighborhood resident from Realengo. This dissertation presents the data collected through virtual and face-to-face questionnaires, data obtained in field surveys and information from governmental sources, such as the website of the City Hall and companies and concessionaires providing public transportation services.
