RESUMO:

The process of teacher education demands effort and research. Research on teaching and its methodologies is important for teachers to qualify and build their practice daily. The general objective of the research is to understand and critically analyze the perspectives and teaching practices in the discipline of geography taught at Parfor/UFRRJ-IM. Specifically the research seeks to investigate and analyze the potentialities of the methodologies used in the discipline teaching geography of the pedagogy course – Parfor of UFRRJ-IM. In addition to analyzing the relationship and interaction of teacher education with the teaching of geography. The research was constructed from the litura of the theoretical framework that involves the teacher's education, follow-up of the discipline classes, investigation of the importance of the methodologies, production of the questionnaire, contributed to the systematization of Results and the researcher's reflection on the dynamics of Teacher education, the relevance of such discipline in teacher education and the results it can bring to the student. Thus presenting the importance of the teaching of geographer in the formation of parfor/UFRRJ-IM and the positive results that can contribute to students in classrooms in the municipal, state and federal networks.
