SUMMARY:

Over the years we have observed that technology has increasingly dominated the world around us becoming part of our daily lives and bringing many benefits, such as convenience, time optimization, and quality of life, as well as some negative points like the dependence that the human being generating due to its constant use. Regarding school environments, it could not be different, since the generation of students who are in schools nowadays, is a generation that was born inserted in this technological world. Our students increasingly seek and look forward to the use of technology in the classroom space and in this context of the pandemic, it was necessary to insert both teachers and students overnight in technology to avoid ended up the school year. Within these context we are living in this pandemic moment, the research seeks to verify how the use of the Google Classroom platform can impact the students of the State school Professor Vilma Atanázio, located in the Campo Grande neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro- RJ, as well as to analyze this teaching geography method in the pandemic context.

The research also seeks to create a case study of the use of some applications, specifically Google Streetview in Google Earth and the Kahoot program, in geography teaching, demonstrating through a practical class how the teacher can insert these technologies into the classrooms and, also, how these tools can work as a methodology to make teaching more attractive, contextualized and applied to reality, bringing the contents closer to the students' days, aiming it more dynamic and interactive classes.

Finally, the dissertation seeks to demonstrate that the use of these specific software for teaching geography, when used correctly, can provide many benefits, thus improving students' learn and the ovewall school performance.
