Geography Teaching; Cinema; Meaningful Learning; Basic School.
The research seeks to highlight how much cinematographic and geographical art contributes to a better understanding of themes related to geography that are sometimes considered complex and even abstract for students. The research aims to identify the importance of cinema in the teaching-learning process of geography in basic education, together with teaching practice. To achieve the objective proposed here, we will adopt bibliographic research as methodology, analyzing through books, articles, magazines and others, materials that highlight the relevance of the seventh art to the teaching and learning process of the geography discipline. In addition, due to the pandemic reality, it is intended to conduct qualitative interviews by videoconference, with teachers of this discipline who act in public institutions in the metropolitan region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in order to obtain records that highlight the perspectives of these teachers in relation to the dialogue between cinema and geography in the teaching process and learning of the contents related to geographic science.
