SUMMARY:

Public education in Brazil is going through a Neoliberal offensive that will directly affect the lives not only of the young people of the country, but of society as a whole. The reformulation of high school that is materialized through the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) proposes an education model aimed at meeting only the interests of the labor market when forming labor for the productive sector of the economy. In this perspective, Geography as a discipline, as well as the other disciplines that are part of the formative axis of human sciences will suffer great impacts, especially in the sense of emptying its contents. Thus, the present research has as its central objective to understand what the impacts that BNCC will entail specifically will be on the teaching of Geography in high school. This will be done through a methodology based on primary and secondary documentary analyses, as well as interviews in public and private educational institutions in order to conceive the perspectives of students as well as education professionals for the implementation of this new curriculum proposal
