Discourse Analysis (DA) as the theoretical-methodological proposal of this dissertation is a technique or a set of procedures that aim to qualitatively clarify the intentions or omissions of the discourses. The effects of the meanings of the discourses linked to the historicalsociocultural context consolidate ideological structural positions that are mediated by language as a discourse construction factor to transform realities in the social world. The aim is to bring “deviations” in discursive speeches to light, contextualize them, disentangle them, try to understand the signs of said and unspoken, compare them with the discursive formations that nourish the pronouncements. In order to try to understand this intention of the Jair Bolsonaro Government and to obtain some conjunctural answer that justifies the hypothesis that there is a strategic policy in the geopolitical discourses for South America, we traced some research elements that could answer the following question: to what extent are the discourses geopolitical in official pronouncements, under the diplomacy of the Bolsonaro government, reveal a geopolitical power strategy for South America? For the construction of the corpus, we delimited the pronouncements and documents that took place during the government of Bolsonaro in the years 2019 and 2020, the first two years of government. The clippings are based on the written texts of the official statements of the President, Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, whose data sources will be the official websites of the government and the MRE. Based on them, in-depth analysis (corpus of analysis) will be elaborated in order to establish the socio-historical and ideological character of geopolitical discourses. For the corpus of analysis, the main Brazilian newspapers and magazines will be researched and analyzed (O Globo, Jornal do Brasil, Folha de São Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo, Correio Brasiliense, Valor Econômico, Veja, Época and Istoé), dissertations and theses and books relevant to the topic.
