The concept of urban agriculture has gained worldwide prominence because it is a phenomenon directly related to social, economic and environmental aspects. It is an activity that differs from the so-called rural or traditional agriculture because it is inserted in the urban ecosystem generating income, food and nutrition security, revitalization of spaces, preservation of the environment and resistance of farmers. Different areas are interested in the study of this practice, which was the main means of subsistence of man in its evolution for centuries and that has now arrived in the urban environment bringing new perspectives. In geography, in particular, the look at urban agriculture goes beyond a new function of urban space, the great economic and social impacts call attention to the study of this practice by geographic science.
