EDUCOMMUNICATION: FROM SCHOOLS TO CONSERVATION UNITS IN BAIXADA FLUMINENSEenvironmental education, socio-environmental booklet, nature conservation, environmental practices, environmental education. The conservation units of Baixada Fluminense suffer from stereotypes attributed to social and economic issues in the region. These facts generate a socio-environmental crisis, making these green areas invisible and affecting the conservation status of these units. One way to change this scenario is to encourage society to become a social actor, that is, to play the role of protagonist, to create closer connections and revive the feeling of belonging between human beings and nature. Critical environmental education will be used as a basis for this research as it combats ideas rooted in years of blaming environmental impacts on the individual alone; it brings the discussion about the effects of the lack of public management and inspection, as well as the advance of urbanization and industrialization on green areas. The objective is to contribute to the teaching-learning of environmental education in the conservation units of Baixada Fluminense, the development of a booklet that integrates the contents of the PCNs and the BNCC, will be the guide to propose innovative and creative environmental education practices applied. We will also introduce the concept of educommunication, which aims to introduce pedagogical, communication and socio-environmental issues, through activities such as: production of educational content, creation and use of videos on social media for the democratization of information dissemination. The study area will be the Baixada Fluminense and nine municipalities. The present research is justified in encouraging critical environmental education and environmental educommunication actions in conservation units for elementary and high school students, involving schools and teachers in nature conservation.
