SUMMARY:

The Scout Movement brings within it the essence of forming citizens committed to the society in which they are inserted. Its educational proposal is constantly changing in the same way in whom space and geographic science change. Based on the ideas developed by the Scout Movement, this research has as main objective to understand the participation of geography in the Scout Movement and how this influences its relationship with geographical space. As a methodology, he uses bibliographic study as an instrument to describe the history of Scouting, since his idealization by Baden-Powell in 1907, his arrival in Brazil in 1910, and his action in the space lived and in teaching geography, starting from the experiences of Scouting with games and the practice of mathematics. As an initial milestone is a history of the Scout Movement and the teaching of geography as a school science, using as a basis the proposals of formal education, of the non-formal in the Scout, as well as the interdisciplinary proposals that seek to combine themes in common of the geography school discipline. Based on the analysis of questionnaires with Scout leaders in search of perceiving the geographical experience in their Scout groups, we understand how geographic space is perceived during mating activities. We also work on the practice of geography in the classroom, with adapted Scout games, and observe how Girl Scout activities can be introduced and practiced in the school environment. It was possible to observe that the spatial conceptions present in the Girl Scout specialties, through the playful games made in the school environment, are able to lead the young person to understand the space in which he lives. It can be perceived that learning-making and playful Scouting are learning possibilities in the practice of geography teaching.
