Deindustrialization in the Brazilian economy: a study based on international exchanges

The present study has the proposal to present the concepts and the possible occurrence of the phenomenon of Deindustrialization in the Brazilian Economy in the period between 1995 and 2014. Through New Developmentalism and CEPAL approaches, added to the World Input-Output Database (WIOD), the Brazilian industrial behavior was analyzed, from the perspective of the Export Agenda, through import coefficients, wages and employment, as well as of the added value of exports, combining their results to verify the occurrence of the process. The results of this temporal evaluation of the productive effects within the country will be able to help in its industrial planning and in the formulation of public policies of productive improvement and reduction in the technological gap with the developed countries.
