SUMMARY:

This work aims to evaluate the performance of the municipality of Japeri, it is a city in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro, located in the region named Baixada Fluminense, based on the Sustainable Urban Mobility Index (IMUS), using methods and epistemologies common to the field of Digital Humanities. It results in a comprehensive analysis based on the performance of eighty-seven IMUS indicators, thirty-seven themes, and nine domains of this index. It analyzes political, social, accessibility, infrastructure, urban systems and connections, planning, environmental aspects, among others. Given the complexity of the city regarding the production and availability of information and data that are essential for conducting this type of research, the study presents data and information from field and digital works, based on the transdisciplinarity of Digital Humanities, using the IMUS to evaluate the various aspects of the region that relate to the promotion of public policies aimed at healthier and more sustainable urban mobility for citizens, the economy, and the environment, in order to provide information capable of guiding actions of the government in the development and maintenance of more efficient policies, mitigating common urban problems and maximizing the public interest in sustainable yet functional mobility.
