SUMMARY:

The evolution of technology has profoundly shaped teaching and learning processes. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been integrated into educational practices, while active methodologies have adapted to diverse historical contexts, including wars, socioeconomic transformations, revolutions, and pandemics. Despite significant technological advancements, it remains essential to adopt a critical and balanced approach that effectively aligns technology, education, and public policies in order to enhance learning outcomes. Scholars and educators have long dedicated themselves to the study of active methodologies, either as complementary strategies or as alternatives to traditional approaches. Among these, hybrid models stand out for their ability to integrate pedagogical methods with technological resources, particularly given their rapid expansion in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. This article aims to examine key concepts related to learning, knowledge acquisition, and active methodologies, while fostering a critical reflection on how hybrid practices, when combined with digital media resources, can strengthen creative learning and yield positive educational outcomes.
