ETLH Workflows on Data Tripling and FAIR Principles: A Transdisciplinary Investigation in the Context of the Digital Humanities and Digital Agriculture

The growth in the datification of digital resources and the digitization of processes in novel digital emerging areas like Digital Humanities and Digital Agriculture are forcing humans to acquire new abilities to maintain the data's quality, reliability and security. Several initiatives are evolving and proposing data-centric processes, new principles or technologies to provide more adequate treatments for data or more effective ways of handling scientific data. We highlight the Semantic Web and the FAIR Principles. They endorse the reuse of data and metadata, aligning with the Linked Open Data movement and the Linked Data principles. In summary, such contributions consist of disseminating data interconnection and making them fully available on the Web of data. Currently, the OpenSoils platform data repository has a large amount of soil data for several areas of knowledge, such as digital agriculture, sustainability, and digital humanities, among others; but not fully connected to the Web of data. This work explores the intersections of the concepts behind the Semantic Web, FAIR Principles and Linked Open Data movements within the digital humanities. It proposes the elaboration of technological artefacts based on ETLH Workflows as well as their applicability in the OpenSoils platform data repository within the context of Digital Humanities, aiming at the production of a new digital data repository of a transdisciplinary nature and based on RDF triples whose origin is a project in the area of Digital Agriculture.
