SUMMARY:

The teaching and learning process in the discipline of Chemistry has been carried out mechanically in classrooms, in order to demotivate the student. To change this scenario, the author proposes Frugal Innovation, where the content taught gains meaning in a simple and light way, but with quality. Frugal innovation is a means of doing more with less. To be Frugal is to carefully use resources, avoiding unnecessary waste. The author also proposed Meaningful Learning, which emerges as an interesting instrument, where the teacher makes the student understand the meaning of the knowledge imparted in class. A Thermochemistry activity was also carried out for the basic formation of the student, where situations and questions of their day to day, lead them to think, finding explanations and answers together. Thus, this study sought to develop a representative teaching in the classroom, a more conclusive and less content based Chemistry, where the teacher encourages creativity and innovation in teaching. This study was based on the concepts of Frugal Innovation.
