BIOETHANOL PRODUCTION: A PLAYFUL ACTIVITY TO REFLECT ON ENERGY CHALLENGES

This study aimed to develop and apply a didactic sequence (SD) structured in pedagogical moments, including 

diagnostic assessment, problematization, experimentation, university immersion and systematization, aiming

 to raise environmental awareness and teach biofuels, through the production of bioethanol. The research was 

carried out in the second semester of 2024 with 36 high school students from Colégio Estadual Deborah 

Mendes de Moraes. The activities involved theoretical classes, bioethanol fermentation and distillation experiments, 

as well as a technical visit to the university. The analysis of the questionnaires applied 

before and after SD indicated a significant increase in students' knowledge about biofuels, 

highlighting the effectiveness of the practical and interdisciplinary approach in the teaching-learning process. 

The results highlight the importance of active and experimental 

methodologies in the scientific and environmental training of students.
