SUMMARY:

Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC) reinforce the digital nature of technological devices (tablets, computers, cell phones and laptops) connected to the internet, enabling multiple connections in networks, multidirectional communication, knowledge production, creation and publication of information. All these possibilities can and should be used in favor of Education and, more specifically, of Physical Education, contributing to the development of male and female students, both in aspects related to the specificities of the discipline, as well as the new challenges provided by technological evolution. In view of this, this study aims to investigate the motivation, perception and practices of Physical Education teachers, regarding the use of DICT, with classes in the final years of Elementary School (6th to 9th), in the city of São Pedro da Village/RJ. The study will be divided into two phases. In the first, teachers will be invited to answer self-perception and self-completed questionnaires on Teacher Motivation and Motivation and Resistance to the Use of Information Technology. Each questionnaire item will consist of a statement and a five-point “Likert Scale”. After the descriptive analysis of the questionnaire data, the five most motivated professionals and the five teachers who appear to be less motivated will be invited to participate in the second phase of the study. In this phase, interviews will be carried out, in person or online, with the aim of identifying the conditions provided by the school for the use of DICT with students, use of DICT by teachers in their daily lives, reasons why they do not feel motivated and methods or strategies that have been used by these professionals, involving the use of DICT. The information obtained will be analyzed descriptively using the technique of content analysis.
